Coral Gables
Often called the “Beverly Hills of Miami,” Coral Gables is one of Miami’s very first planned communities. Between the tranquil environment, the gorgeous fountains, and of course, the luxurious homes, Coral Gables is what many consider the crown jewel of South Florida. Expect stunningly scenic drives as you pass through the community and jaw-dropping views of grand Mediterranean-style homes.
Coral Gables is wedged between Douglas Road (east) and Red Road (west). Its northern border is marked by SW 8TH Street and carries all the way down to Old Cutler Road.
Coral Gables has a lovely atmosphere of old-world Europe meets South Florida and even boasts handsome churches and little canals for even more Southern European charm.
Amenities
Coral Gables is home to several clinics, specialty doctors, and hospitals, including Coral Gables Hospital and the Nicklaus Children's Hospital. There are also several pharmacies in the area to choose from, such as Walgreens, CVS, Publix, and a few independent entities. A handful of veterinarians are also close by, as well a dozen daycares, which is incredibly convenient for families with pets or young children. A plethora of spas is also scattered throughout the area for hardworking residents looking for some well-deserved time off in premium facilities close to home.
Dining & Shopping
Coral Gables has a beautiful and bustling downtown area that houses dozens upon dozens of retail and restaurant choices. The Shops at Merrick Park is one of such shopping centers where residents can visit designer stores like Banana Republic, Gucci and Jimmy Choo.
Miracle Mile and Giralda Plaza are a couple of other local favorites for excellent shopping experiences for visitors and guests all around.
As for dining, visitors have almost too many options to choose from, including Argentinean fare, French cuisine, Italian, Cuban, and all-you-can-eat Asian fusion dishes.
Parks & Recreation
For picnics and sports, residents frequent Philips Park, a public space with benches, a short track, a ball field, and tennis and basketball courts. For those looking for a quiet stroll, Ingraham Park is also very popular for its lush green spaces and picturesque water views and walkways. For residents with pets, Coconut Grove Dog Park offers wide green spaces for dogs to run, while Coral Gables Wayside Park offers a lovely little afternoon spot for fishing.
Last but not least is the U.S. historic Venetian Pool, a Venetian-style public pool with everything from coral rock caves to a lavish waterfall. This pool serves as one of Coral Gables’ most popular attractions and is the perfect afternoon activity on an especially hot Miami day.
Culture & Events
Coral Gables is a city of serenity and luxury living, and as such, big events are often held outside of the peaceful city. Residents need only take a few minutes’ drive northeast to South Beach, Wynwood, Coconut Grove, or Brickell for fun art, musical, or cultural events.
Wynwood is a hotspot for art, South Beach is key for festivals, and many of their sister neighborhoods are prime locations for musical concerts. This makes it easy to enjoy everything Miami nightlife has to offer while enjoying the finer benefits of living in a quiet and upscale city.
