Surfside Info

Surfside is a small, oceanfront community that’s currently home to nearly 6,000 residents. Featuring a mix of single-family homes, condominiums, and apartment buildings, Surfside offers a unique charm not found in other South Florida cities. The small town is bordered by glistening bodies of natural waters, with Indian Creek to the west, and the Atlantic Ocean to the east. Its northernmost border is marked by 96th Street, extending just over a mile down to 87th Terrace.

Surfside its best known for its extraordinary quality of life, its eco-friendly initiatives, and subtropical beach city charms. As far as architecture goes, Surfside’s claim to fame lies within its fusion of contemporary meets Mediterranean-revival style homes.

Surfside leaves little to be desired when it comes to convenience and accessibility. For grocery stores, the town has a Publix Supermarket, as well as a KOSHERLAND for Kosher foods. The town also has a CVS pharmacy (in addition to Publix’s pharmacy), as well as a number of gyms, childcare centers, medical clinics, and a local veterinarian.

Retailers include Saks Fifth Avenue, VERSACE, Saint Laurent, and so much more, offering a plethora of high-quality shopping experiences for natives and tourists alike.

Parks & Recreation

As an oceanfront community, the beach is never more than 1 mile away from any part of the town. In fact, the most eastern part of the beach town is less than .7 miles away from the Atlantic Shoreline. Surfside Park is a family-friendly park that’s great for children and adults alike, featuring a playground, a basketball court, and a wall for tennis. The town’s convenient location also opens up opportunities to explore other local parks, with over a dozen more within a 2-mile radius of the city center.

Culture & Events

Surfside’s beach city aesthetic and pedestrian-friendly boardwalk charms are also within the commercial side of the city. The town hosts a variety of events for residents, including a Teen Summer Program, a local Aquatics Program, tennis events, and various school programs for children of all ages.
